A service-based business needed a mobile app that worked reliably in areas with poor connectivity. Users needed to complete workflows offline — capturing data, photos, and signatures — and sync everything when back online, without data loss or conflicts.
The Approach
How I built the solution.
Built with React Native and Expo for cross-platform deployment from a single codebase. Implemented an offline-first architecture using WatermelonDB for local storage with a custom sync engine that handles conflict resolution. Firebase for push notifications, real-time presence, and authentication. Node.js backend with webhook-based sync to ensure data integrity.
